Hexadrive<\/a>, known for Silent Hill: The Short Message<\/em>, is developing a new horror game titled Niraya of \u25a0\u25a0<\/em> (yes, it’s really spelled out like that). A recent teaser features a chilling opening with a large hand caressing what appears to be a dead child’s face.<\/p>\n

The gameplay, reminiscent of PS1-era horror games like Fatal Frame<\/em>, is a departure from the hyperreal graphics of The Short Message<\/em>. Inspired by Buddhist beliefs, Niraya of \u25a0\u25a0<\/em> focuses on a unique system where the object is to avoid monster attacks rather than fight or hide. Players guide the protagonist, a young child, through eerie environments, solving puzzles, and evading supernatural threats.<\/p>\n

The game emphasizes dodging over typical action tropes, with the protagonist managing limited stamina and using surroundings to escape attacks. Hexadrive describes it as a Japanese horror game set in a “mysterious realm unknown to the modern world”.<\/p>\n

The game is aiming for a Q4 2025 release on PC. You can wishlist it on Steam<\/a> right now. At the time of writing, there’s no announcement about whether it’s coming to consoles.<\/p>\n
