Remedy Entertainment<\/a> recently held its Capital Markets Day 2024<\/a> presentation, where it shared its latest financial results and future plans, including details about Control 2<\/em><\/a>, the sequel to its blockbuster original IP. The title, which entered the production phase last summer, has been playable for several months, with its genre now confirmed as an action RPG.<\/p>\n

The first Control<\/em> game was categorized as an action-adventure and third-person shooter, implying that the sequel will introduce new gameplay elements to explore a different genre. Total sales of the first title now exceed 4.5 million units, although the company revealed that more than 19 million users have experienced the game.<\/p>\n

\"Control<\/a>In comparison, Remedy’s Alan Wake II<\/em><\/a> has achieved sales of over 1.8 million copies since its release a year ago on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Approximately 40% of players have completed the game.<\/p>\n

While Control 2<\/em> has a budget of $50 million, requiring the sale of 3.4 million copies to break even, FBC: Firebreak<\/em> will expand the Control<\/em> universe with a multiplayer proposal. This project has a budget of $30 million, requiring 3 million copies to meet its target.<\/p>\n

The Control<\/em>-themed multiplayer will be a 3-player cooperative first-person shooter set in the enigmatic Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). During the presentation, its release for Xbox Series and PC was announced, with availability on Game Pass from launch. The game will also be sold on the Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
